The Westies drops into Hell’s Kitchen during the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center, a project that stands to bring a windfall to the Irish-American crew who run the neighborhood. Outnumbered by the Italian Mafia’s Five Families, they hold their ground through reputation and a shaky truce, though the gap between the old guard and the younger generation keeps threatening to break it. This week’s episode, The Starship, has Sweeney cut a deal to free Flanagan by robbing a Colombian disco, while Bridget seeks counsel about Cahill and Keenan looks into a cop’s killing in Boston.

A second season of The Crow Girl arrives on Paramount+ this week. The British crime drama began with the body of a teenage boy found in the open and DCI Jeanette Kilburn’s push to find who was responsible, working with psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven while her superiors resisted her methods. That investigation led into a buried history of abuse and children who had gone missing without much scrutiny.

Now on its fourth season, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns to the U.S.S. The Rookie centers on John Nolan, who became the oldest rookie in the LAPD after leaving a small-town life to chase the job in Los Angeles, working alongside recruits half his age. What airs this week is an extended cut of the season eight episode His Name Was Martin, with roughly five and a half extra minutes added. The new footage includes more of the action as the team tries to evade a zombie crew, plus added context for an emotional conversation between Lucy and Tim. It runs Monday night on ABC. Cape Fear turns on Anna and Tom Bowden, married attorneys whose settled life starts to come apart when Max Cady walks out of prison. Cady, the killer they helped put away, comes looking for revenge. The series is deep into its first season on Apple TV. The threat has been closing in across the season, so the later episodes lean heavily on what came before. Long-running by any measure, Criminal Minds is on its nineteenth season, still following the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit as it profiles violent offenders and tries to anticipate their next move before they strike again.
