An American college football coach with no soccer experience takes charge of an English Premier League club, and his relentless good cheer baffles nearly everyone around him. That premise has carried Ted Lasso from the start, and it returns this week for a fourth season on Apple TV+ after a long absence. The comedy lives in the gap between Ted’s warmth and the cutthroat results culture of professional soccer, along with the locker room that slowly comes around to him. Annie Jacobson is 17, raised in New York City by an adoptive father alongside her twin brother. Her world tilts when she inherits an island in Canada from a grandfather she barely knew. The premiere, “Track of the Cat,” borrows the first book’s setup: a fellow ranger turns up dead, the death gets pinned on a mountain lion, and Anna doesn’t buy it. Rather than adapt the novels one by one, the show plants its home base at Glacier National Park and pulls characters from across the series, setting up a new park mystery each week. The CIA’s Lioness program places female operatives next to high-value targets, and Joe runs the team while trying to hold her own life together. Drawn from a real military effort, the series returns to Paramount+ for a third season with “The Spider and the Fly,” in which a covert strike turns up a hidden threat and pulls Joe into a tangled chain of events.

Futurama picks its long run back up with a fourteenth season on Hulu. The show follows Fry, a pizza guy frozen in 1999 and thawed out in the 31st century, now making deliveries across the galaxy with the Planet Express crew. The premiere, “Beef,” has the Professor growing lab meat so Fry can enter a hot dog eating contest. It arrives as the latest chapter in a series that keeps finding its way back from cancellation.

Vikram Chamberlain time-traveled from 1847 and got stranded in the present, then accidentally loosed magic across Europe. Now he and a small team have to chase it all down. The Librarians: The Next Chapter starts its second season this week on TNT with “And the Burning Heart,” which sends the group to an international boarding school hit by an outbreak of unexplained rage. There they meet a man claiming to be Merlin, and they have to master their own anger to find the source of the magic before time runs out.

Betrayal returns to Hulu for a fourth season of true crime storytelling. Each installment lays out a real relationship that turned out to be built on lies, then follows the deception through to the damage it left behind. The new season keeps that anthology approach, opening a fresh case of a trust broken and a life upended.

Naked and Afraid: Shipwrecked drops its survivalists into a new format. Expecting a standard group challenge, they instead start the ordeal adrift at sea in the dark, grabbing what supplies they can before swimming for shore. In the premiere, “Abandon Ship,” 12 returning contestants plunge into the pitch-black Philippine Sea and scatter across an isolated island, where a venomous jellyfish sting leaves one of them in serious pain.
