Star City retells the space race from behind the Iron Curtain, in a version of history where the Soviet Union puts a man on the moon first. It follows the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers planted among them, and the risks they all took to get there. “Awl in a Sack” deals with the fallout from the previous episode as carefully laid plans start to unravel. It’s a paranoid, tightly wound thriller, and the middle of the season is where the pressure really builds.

Married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden helped put Max Cady away, and now that he’s out of prison he’s circling back with revenge on his mind. The series stretches that premise into a slow burn, and “Faith” tightens the screws: Max gets a visit from someone in his past, Anna starts digging into Nevaeh, and Tom’s latest case turns thornier than expected. Anyone who knows the films will recognize the shape of it; this version has more room to let the dread sit. Good for a Friday night with the lights low.

Coop is a hedge fund manager who gets fired, then starts quietly robbing his wealthy neighbors to keep the family lifestyle afloat, until one break-in goes badly wrong. The second season closed in the last few weeks with “The Night of the Hunter,” as the neighborhood gathers for Father’s Day at the country club in the wake of another scandal. It’s a sharp look at money and the lengths people go to keep up appearances, with a lead performance carrying most of the weight. The full season is there to run straight through.

Set in present-day London, Criminal Record pits two detectives against each other over an old murder case: a younger officer early in her career and an established man set on guarding his reputation. The second season closed recently with “Nobody Dies,” forcing June and Hegarty to work together to head off a danger already in motion. The series runs questions of race and institutional failure through a tense procedural frame, and both seasons are now there to watch end to end.

Widow’s Bay is set on a supposedly cursed New England island whose superstitious residents are led by a mayor who refuses to take their warnings seriously. The first season wrapped in the last few weeks with “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time!”, a finale that promises hard choices were made and nothing will be quite the same. It’s a comic spin on small-town horror, and the whole season is now available to watch in a sitting or two.

Paula is a newly divorced mom who tumbles into a mess of blackmail, possible murder, and youth soccer politics after she becomes convinced she witnessed a crime. “Flighting” leans into the paranoia, with packages, suspicion, and a painful goodbye.
