The story tracks him from toddler to teenager as his father tries to shield him from a media storm and the police close in on a suspect. It’s a heavy, character-driven drama rather than a procedural, and it arrived on Netflix in the last few weeks as a complete story you can watch end to end.

Timed to the country’s 250th anniversary, this documentary series goes back to the founding and the question underneath it: can a people actually govern themselves? The first episode, “Episode I: Freedom,” follows a young George Washington building his military reputation as the colonies start to bristle at new British taxes.
